Create and share forms
Forms let you collect information from colleagues or from people outside your organisation in a structured way. This page shows you how to build a form from scratch, share it and review the responses as they come in.
Create a form
Create a form from the create button (the floating ”+” button) in Drive or on the Forms page. The builder opens in a new tab, without replacing Drive, and the new form also appears in the Drive list, alongside your documents.
In the builder, start by giving the form a title and, if you want, a description that explains its purpose to respondents.
Add and configure fields
The builder offers six field types. Choose the type from the menu as you add each field:
- Short text — a single line, for names, emails or brief answers.
- Long text — several lines, for comments or descriptions.
- Single choice — a list of options from which the respondent picks only one.
- Multiple choice — a list of options from which they can pick several.
- Date — a calendar picker.
- Number — numeric values only.
For each field, set the Label (the question) and tick Required field if you want to make an answer mandatory. On single choice and multiple choice fields, write the Options one per line. You can reorder fields with the up and down arrows.
When you are done, click Save. The button turns green and reads “Saved” for a few seconds to confirm. Use Preview at any time to see and test the form exactly as a respondent will see it, including the validation of required fields.
Share through a public link
Click Share to generate a public link. Anyone with the link can open and submit the form, without needing a Foral account. The link is copied to your clipboard automatically.
To stop accepting responses, click Stop sharing: the link stops working immediately.
View and export responses
In the builder, open the Responses tab, which shows the number of responses received in brackets. The responses appear in a table, with the submission date and one column per field.
To save the data, click Export CSV. The downloaded file is UTF-8 and uses the field labels as its header row, ready to open in a spreadsheet.
