Create and manage events

This page shows you how to book appointments in Foral Calendar, from a simple event to recurring meetings with guests, reminders and focus blocks.

Create an event

  1. Click a cell in the grid (or press the c key) to open the new event window.
  2. Give the event a title and confirm the date and time.
  3. Optionally, set a location, a colour-coded category, an emoji and a description.
  4. Set the time zone if the event is in another zone.
  5. Click Save. The event appears in the grid straight away.

For all-day or multi-day events, turn on the all-day option and choose the range. You can also drag an event, or stretch its edges on the grid, to reschedule it.

Invite people and RSVP

Add guests by email in the attendees field. Each person can be marked as required (REQ) or optional (OPT). When you save, guests receive an email with the invitation and buttons to reply — Accept, Decline or Maybe — without having to sign in. The organiser is notified of every reply.

When there are guests, Foral shows a conflict warning if someone already has another appointment at that time, helping you find the best moment.

Recurring events

In the recurrence selector, choose the pattern you want (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly). You can set an interval, a number of repeats or an end date. To delete a single occurrence, choose “this occurrence” when Foral asks; to change everything, choose “the series”.

Reminders

Each event can have several reminders (for example, 10 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day before). Reminders arrive through the notification bell, where you can snooze them by 5, 10 or 30 minutes.

Views

Use the toolbar to switch between month, week, day, year and appointments (list). The appointments view shows only the days that have events, and scrolls continuously into the past and the future.

Focus blocks and absences

  • Focus block — set time aside for concentrated work. It can mute chat notifications and automatically decline invitations that clash with the block.
  • Absence — flag that you are away (out-of-office). You can leave a message and decline invitations automatically.
