Collaborate in real time

Several colleagues can work on the same document at the same time. Each person sees everyone else’s changes appear live, as well as where each of them is typing, which avoids duplicate versions and swapping files by email.

Editing at the same time

When you share a file with a colleague and you both open it in the Editor, you join the same editing session:

  • You see each participant’s cursor in their own colour, in real time.
  • The text the others type appears on your screen immediately.
  • Anyone with read-only access opens the file in read-only mode and cannot edit it.

Comments

Comments let you leave notes on the document without changing the text. Select the passage you want to comment on, add the comment, and your colleague can reply. Use comments for suggestions, questions or review requests.

Track changes

Track changes marks everything that is added or removed, identifying the author of each change. It is useful for reviewing a document written by several people: you can then accept or reject each change, one by one or all at once, before finalising the text.

Mentioning colleagues with @

Inside a comment, type @ followed by a colleague’s name to mention them. As you type, a list of suggestions appears — select the person you want.

The person mentioned receives a notification in the app’s bell, showing who mentioned them and in which document, so they can open the file and reply.
