Forms and automations — overview

The Forms and automations module lets you collect information from other people and react to that information automatically. Create a form, share it through a public link, receive the responses and let Foral handle the rest: it notifies colleagues, creates tasks or opens approval requests, with no manual intervention.

Forms appear alongside your documents in Drive and open in a visual builder of their own. Automations are managed by administrators, in a drag-and-drop designer where triggers are wired to actions.

What you will learn

This guide shows you how to get the most out of forms and automations from end to end:

• Build and share forms with six field types, validation of required answers and a public link that anyone can fill in without an account.
• Collect and export responses, viewing them in a table and downloading them as CSV.
• Automate flows that react to a form submission (and to other Foral events) with chained actions.
• Create human approvals, where a response goes to one or more approvers in sequence, with the decision recorded and an audit trail.

What it is for

A Foral form is for any structured collection of information: sign-ups, internal requests, satisfaction surveys or quick polls. Every response is stored securely and is available only to the author of the form.

Automations take the next step. Instead of checking responses by hand, you define a flow that fires on its own when something happens — for example, “whenever a response arrives for this form, create a task and ask the manager for approval”. Everything is recorded in a run history.
