Sync with Apple, iOS and Thunderbird (CalDAV)

Foral Calendar uses CalDAV, an open standard, to sync with the calendar apps you already have on your computer and your phone. Events then stay up to date on both sides: what you create in Foral shows up in the native app, and vice versa.

What you need before you start

  • The address of the Foral CalDAV server (ask your administrator if you do not know it).
  • Your Foral email and password — the connection uses these credentials.
  • A secure connection (HTTPS), which is required for syncing.

Apple Calendar (macOS)

  1. Open the Calendar app and go to Calendar → Settings → Accounts.
  2. Click + and choose Other CalDAV Account.
  3. For the account type, select Manual.
  4. Enter your email, your password and the CalDAV server address.
  5. Finish. Your Foral events appear in the app.

iPhone and iPad (iOS)

  1. Go to Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account.
  2. Choose Other and then Add CalDAV Account.
  3. Fill in the server, the email and the password.
  4. Save. The calendar becomes available in the iOS Calendar app.

Thunderbird

  1. In the calendar pane, choose New Calendar → On the Network.
  2. Select CalDAV and paste the server address.
  3. Enter the credentials when you are asked for them.
  4. Finish the wizard to start syncing.

Shared team calendars

Beyond your personal schedule, you can work with team shared calendars. Each member holds a role of Viewer (view only) or Editor (view and change). When you create an event, use the Calendar selector to choose whether it belongs to your personal schedule or to a shared calendar.

You can also overlay your colleagues’ schedules from the same workspace on your own, from the list in the sidebar, to compare availability — each colleague appears in their own colour.
