Drive — overview

Drive is where you store, organise and share all your files in Foral. It works as a European alternative to Google Drive or OneDrive, with your data hosted 100% in the European Union.

What you can do in Drive

In Drive you work with any type of file — documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, videos or archives. The main capabilities are:

  • Upload files of any type, by dragging them into the window or through the file picker.
  • Organise into nested folders, with move, rename and quick search.
  • Preview PDFs, images, video and ZIP archives without having to download them.
  • Share files and folders with colleagues, assigning the Owner, Editor or Reader role.
  • Create public links with an expiry date, to share with people outside your organisation.
  • Check the version history (up to 50 versions) and restore an earlier version.
  • Mark favourites to reach what you use every day more quickly.
  • Recover deleted files from the Trash.

How it is laid out

When you go into Drive you see the list of your files and folders. The top bar holds the upload, sort and filter-by-type options. Clicking a file once brings up a side panel with the preview and the details; double-clicking opens the file.

The pages that follow explain each area in detail:

  • Upload and organise files — uploading, creating folders, moving, renaming, searching and previewing.
  • Share and manage permissions — access roles, public links and sharing with colleagues.
  • Versions, favourites and trash — version history, marking favourites and recovering what you deleted.
