Use the inbox

The Foral inbox groups messages into conversations (threads), just like Gmail. Instead of loose messages, you see each subject as a continuous thread, which makes it easier to follow an email exchange from start to finish.

Read conversations

  1. Choose a folder on the left (for example, Inbox or Sent).
  2. The list of conversations appears in the middle, ordered by the most recent message.
  3. Click a conversation to open it on the right.

Inside the conversation, the most recent message appears expanded and the earlier ones stay collapsed. Click a collapsed message to expand it. The messages you open are marked as read automatically.

Reply and forward

With a message open, you have three options:

  • Reply — writes to the sender only.
  • Reply all — writes to the sender and to every recipient.
  • Forward — sends the message (and its attachments) to someone else.

Replies stay inside the same conversation, so the recipient gets them linked to the original thread. When you forward, the attachments are reused from the source message, so you do not have to upload them again.

Attachments and images

  • Receiving — attachments appear in the message detail, ready to download.
  • Save to Drive — use the Save to Drive button on an attachment you received to keep a copy in your Drive (it counts towards your quota).
  • Sending — when composing, add files to the message. Images can appear embedded (inline) in the body of the text.

For security, the HTML content of messages is displayed in isolation and remote images are blocked until you allow them with the Show images option.

Large files via Drive

When an attachment goes over 25 MB, Foral uploads it to your Drive and replaces it, in the message body, with a link. That way the message still arrives, without running into the size limits of email servers.

  • If you send it only to colleagues with a Foral account, the file is shared in each person’s Drive (under Shared with me), with no expiry date.
  • If there are external recipients, a link with an expiry date (14 days) is generated, and the expiry date is stated in the message body.
