Calendar — overview
Calendar is where you organise your schedule in Foral. It works as a European alternative to Google Calendar or Outlook, with your data hosted 100% in the European Union and open sync over CalDAV.
What you can do in Calendar
This is where you book appointments, invite people, get reminders and keep everything in step with the other calendars you already use. The main capabilities are:
- Create and edit events, with a time, location, colour, emoji and category.
- Invite people by email and follow their replies (RSVP: Accept, Maybe, Decline).
- Repeat events (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) and manage exceptions to a series.
- Get reminders before each event, with the option to snooze them.
- Switch views between month, week, day, year and the appointment list.
- Meet by video with a link of its own (
/meet), with chat and live captions. Recording is available from the Professional plan upwards. - Share team calendars and see your colleagues’ schedules overlaid on your own.
- Sync with Apple Calendar, iOS and Thunderbird over CalDAV.
How it is organised
On the left is the sidebar, with the Calendar heading, a mini calendar for jumping between dates and the list of colleagues whose schedules you can overlay on your own. The main area holds the toolbar, with the Today button, the arrows to move forwards and backwards, and the view selector (month, week, day, year and appointments). The shortcuts to search events, create a focus block, print or import and export .ics are in the options menu.

The pages that follow explain each area in detail:
- Create and manage events — create events with a location and category, invite people, set recurrence, reminders, views and focus blocks and absences.
- Sync with Apple, iOS and Thunderbird (CalDAV) — connect your Foral calendar to the native apps and use shared team calendars.
