Create and organise notes

Learn how to create notes, format the text and keep everything organised. Everything you write is saved automatically, so you can concentrate on the content.

Creating and writing

To create a note, click New note or the floating create button. The note opens straight into the editor; just start writing the title and the body.

The rich text editor offers:

  • Heading 1 and Heading 2 to structure the text.
  • Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough.
  • Bulleted list and Numbered list, Quote, Code block and inline code.
  • Task lists with checkboxes. As you tick the items off, the note card shows a progress indicator.

Images

You can insert images straight into the text in three ways: with the image button on the toolbar, by pasting an image from the clipboard, or by dragging the file into the editor. The first image in the note appears as a preview on the card in the list. Images count towards your storage quota.

Colours, labels, pinning and archiving

  • Colours — pick one of 12 colours in the editor’s colour picker. The colour applies to the background of the card and of the editor.
  • Labels — create and assign labels to group notes by topic. Filter by label in the Labels section of the sidebar.
  • Pin — pin your most important notes so they appear in the Pinned section, at the top.
  • Archive — send the notes you no longer need in sight to the archive, without deleting them. You will find them in the Archive tab.

Reminders

Set a reminder on a note with the reminder button in the editor: choose the date and the time. At the appointed time, you get a notification in Foral with the title of the note. The card shows the reminder date for as long as it is pending.

Version history

Every note automatically keeps a history (up to 50 versions). Open the history in the editor to see the earlier versions, preview one and Restore the content of that version whenever you need to.
