Notes — overview
Notes is the space in Foral for writing down ideas, task lists and quick jottings. It works as a European alternative to Google Keep or Apple Notes, with a rich text editor and your data hosted 100% in the European Union.
What you can do in Notes
Every note has a title and a formatted body, saved automatically as you write. The main capabilities are:
- Write with formatting — headings, bold, italic, underline, lists, quotes and code blocks.
- Create task lists with checkboxes and follow the progress from the note card.
- Organise with colours, labels, pinning to the top and archiving.
- Insert images straight into the text, by button, paste or drag.
- Set reminders so you are notified at the right time.
- Consult the version history and restore an earlier version.
- Share through a public read-only link, or invite colleagues to read or edit.
How it is organised
You can see your notes in two views: List view, with the list on the left and the editor on the right, and Grid view, where the cards are laid out in columns. Switch between them with the button at the top of the main area. The sidebar brings together the search, the filters and your labels, and pinned notes always appear in a section of their own, at the top.

The following pages explain each area in detail:
